Day 18 Love Seeks To Understand

Love Seeks To Understand

Proverbs 3:13

Happy [is] the man [that] findeth wisdom, and the man [that] getteth understanding.

How much do you know about your spouse?

You start off admiring and building respect for the man you desired to be with. But after marriage, those feelings begin to fade as reality reveals that your "Prince" is a flawed and imperfect man.

There are things still to discover about your husband.

Proverbs 13:15

Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors [is] hard.

Some of the problems you are having with your spouse stem because you don't understand them. We tend to revile those things we don't understand (Jude 10)

Listen (Proverbs 10:14)

Ask God For Discernment (Proverbs 2:6)

Today's Dare

Prepare a special dinner for your husband. Focus on getting to know your husband better, perhaps in areas that you've rarely talked about. Determine to make it enjoyable!

Questions

What did you learn about your spouse?

How can you continue getting to know your husband more?

What were some of the moments that made this evening memorable?

Great post. The more time we spend with our spouse, talking and truly communicating, we maintain the closeness, love and friendship that brought us together in the first place!

Now, about the link. Under name (the first box) type in your blog name or whatever name you want to appear on the link. Some use their own names and some use their blog names.

For the URL (the second box) go to the page that you want to link. You will usually find it by highlighting the posting time, which is right before the number of comments. Click on that and it will take you to the permanent link from your blog.

Then you will paste the post link. It's the address and is the upper left at the top of your blog (with the http, etc. in it).

Copy (control and C) the whole thing and then go to my blog. Type in the name you want to use in the first box. Paste your link (control and v) in the second box where it asks for URL. Then just hit enter and it's done.

Sorry this took so long but somebody dropped in and they just left. So I couldn't do this any sooner.

Do you know how to put a link to my blog in your post? Just either grab the html code beneath my MYHSM button on the left lower sidebar, or do a regular link in your post (I'll tell you how if you need help).

I can do the Mr. Linky for you if you have trouble but you will need to publish your post in order for me to do it.

THis is so true. Afetr 7 years of marriage and 6 of dating I am still finding myself learning about him! Partly becuase of the complexity of persons and partly because as we grow we change! Thanks Brandie. Regarding the dinner, well this is a bit difficult for us to do! But will try to find some time over the week-end.

I am going to cook a special dinner TONIGHT and ask my older son to watch his younger siblings while I have dinner with my husband upstairs while he is working. We do need time to talk and reflect.
