Day 5 "Love Is Not Rude"

Sorry we missed yesterday, if you already did it. thats ok :)

He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him. (Proverbs 27:14 KJV)

* Nothing irritates others as quickly as being rude.
* Rudeness is unnecessarily saying or doing things that are unpleasant for another person to be around.
* To be rude is to act unbecoming, embarrassing, or irritating.
* If you Love your husband you will desire to love, and purposefully avoid things that frustrate him, or cause him discomfort.
* Bottom Line~ Genuine love minds its manners.

[It is] better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. (Proverbs 25:24 KJV)

Test yourself
1.) How does your husband feel about the way you speak and act around them?
2.) How does your behavior affect your husbands sense of worth and self esteem?
3.) Would your husband say you're a blessing, or that you're condescending and embarrassing?

Guideline Principles To Practice
1.) Guard the golden rule. Treat your husband the same way you want to be treated (see Luke 6:31)
2.) No double standards. Be considerate to your spouse as you are to strangers or co workers.
3.) Honor request. Consider what your husband already asked you to do or not to do. If in doubt, then ask.

Today's Dare

Ask your husband to tell you three things that cause him to be uncomfortable or irritated with you. You must do so without attacking him or justifying your behavior. This is from their perspective only.

Question At the end of the day

What things did your spouse point out about you that need your attention? How did you handle hearing it? What do you do to plan to do to improve these areas?

These are the things my hubby mentioned....

1. When the house is cluttered.
2. When I am wearing sweats or look ragety when he arrives home from work.
3. When I am crabby.

How did I handle what he said?

I was calm and just listened.

What do I plan to do to improve these areas?

Well these areas I am aware of...but I think one area I really didn't think was so bad is the way I look when he get's home, so I will work on that.(He made the comment on the way to church, how good i look when we go to church) I finally feel better and I got my hair done Friday. I was wearing it up all the time, and hubby likes it down. I am going to make an attempt to do myself up before he get's home!

How about you all?

My sweet husband only mention one thing: he saud he couldn't find anything else! What a darling! Anyway what he said annoys him is the fact that I don't wake up early enough in the morning to get things done calmly and on time!

Will work on that, which means I have to go to bed earlier!!!

Thanks for sharing....the neat thing is we can pray for these specific areas and ask God to help us. Praise God!

Well ladies, I think these are all areas we all need to improve on!
Brandie - I wear sweats and put my hair up A LOT! it is easy to do when you don't have plans to leave the house and you are taking care of the kids. That is something I have wanted to work on - for me. Isabel - that is an area I want to work on on Sunday mornings! I am always rushing to get out the door for Church and it makes me a mad woman. LOL!

I think I failed at this day:( My hubby gave me these 3 things:

1. spending $$$
2. I don't clean as I go - I wait to clean on weekends
3. I don't use the eliptical machine that he spent so much $$ on for me a year ago at Christmas:)

Ok, I calmly listened also. But when hubby explained the cleaning thing - he spoke of dishes in the sink. That bothered me and 2-3 hrs later I brought it back up!! (this is where I fail) I just wanted to again explain that I can't do the dishes with the babies around.. they always try to get in the dishwasher or pull the dishes out.

I am happy to report that since this day - all of us have tried the "clean as you go" approach and I have a sparkly clean kitchen!
